The meeting format will also let room to long discussion periods that will stimulate exchanges among participants on pollutions of the marine environment by harmful and noxious substances and foster future possible collaborations and follow-up actions (e.g. long-term maintenance of the HNS-MS DSS, new developments, capacity-building in other regions, regional risk assessments…)

The stakeholder meeting is open to any professionals interested in the problematic of the pollution of the marine environment by harmful and noxious substances and willing to hear and discuss the outcome of the HNS-MS project.
All the costs associated to the organisation of the meeting (coffee breaks, noon lunches & social event) are kindly supported by the Belgian FPS Public Health, Food Chain Safety and Environment.
No fee is therefore requested to attend the meeting.
However, the participants will have to take in charge themselves all the other expenses (travel, accommodation and other subsistence costs).
Registration is mandatory.
Registration closes on the 30th of November.
HNS-MS is a decision-support tool that Belgian and French maritime authorities as well as coastguard stations can activate in order to forecast the drift, fate and behavior of acute marine pollution by Harmful Noxious Substances (HNS) accidentally released in the marine system.
HNS-MS has been funded by DG-ECHO under agreement ECHO/SUB/2014/693705 and runs from 1 January 2015 to 31 March 2017.
